Photography

Spring 2017

This series of photos were part of a project while abroad in Athens, Greece, as an attempt to capture the human aspect of the city. These images try to capture the expression of the individual in their everyday state, some aware of the camera, some not. The result was an interesting pattern capturing everyday life of the individual, giving a different dimension to understanding and interacting with the local community.

Charcoal

Spring 2015

These three pieces are part of a series entitled, "Emotion", in which the composition is left to the beholder to derive his or her own perspective and reflection that is evoked from the images. As the pieces were created under different emotional states in themselves, this encourages an interaction with the composition that is not confined or restricted by a title.

Sculpture

Spring 2015

Sculpture as an art form is perhaps one of the most relaxing of mediums, in which the artist develops a connection with the piece as the raw clay is slowly molded, etched, and carved into a finished and realistic 3-D form. These particular sculptures demonstrate the importance of texture and proportion that are an integral part in producing a realistic representation of fur or scales.

Wood and Light

Fall 2016

This light fixture originated as a concept for the Robert Bruce Thompson Student Light Fixture Competition, consisting out of segmented 1/4 in wooden dowels. The concept is a repetition of a hexagonal shape morphing into a fluid composition with each segmented variation, producing an overall fluidity to the fixture utilizing materials that are otherwise rigid in their intended use.
